Our two youth centers for sexual and reproductive health “I Want to Know” are located at Vodno and Shuto Orizari and are open every working day.

IMPORTANT! The youth centers provide services in compliance with the protection protocol (the use of face mask and gloves and hand disinfection are mandatory). HERA provides all necessary personal protective equipment for the service users as well.

Youth Centres provide the following free and confidential services:

 

  • Gynaecological Services
    – Diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, candida) with Pap tests and other microbiological tests
    – Administration of therapy and contraceptives (condoms, intrauterine contraceptive devices, oral and emergency contraceptives)
    – Planned parenthood counselling and unintended pregnancy prevention, bimanual examination and ultrasonography, pregnancy tests

 

  • Dermatological examinations
    – Cryotherapy for skin alterations and condyloma and other types of therapy for skin lesions
    – Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, chlamydia)
    – Counselling for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, chlamydia)

 

  • HIV Testing and Counselling

 

  • Social Worker and Psychologist Services
    – Information and counselling for obtaining personal identification documents
    – Information and counselling for social rights (social protection, pension and disability insurance)
    – Contacts/meetings with/in institutions/organisations on behalf of the client
    – Informing and accompanying the client when visiting a relevant social care institution to benefit from a particular right
    – Counselling for social inclusion and management in a crisis situation
    – Information and counselling for healthcare rights (patient rights, health care, health insurance)
    – Counselling and support related to gender-based violence, including domestic violence
    – Psychosocial counselling: counselling about sexuality, sexual relations, relationships; puberty (physical and psychological changes), peer relations and conflicts, changes and crises during adolescence; psychological support in crisis management; counselling for child marriages and teenage pregnancy; behavioural counselling

 

  • Peer information about HIV and sexual and reproductive health

    • -Information about where and how to get tested to HIV
    -Information about where to discuss or report a particular problem or need related to sexual and reproductive health
    -Information about the services provided by the “I Want To Know” Youth Centres in Skopje and in Kumanovo
    -Information about peer education about comprehensive sexuality education

  • Peer education about comprehensive sexuality education (delivered by a certified trainers)

 

  • Legal assistance and support from a legal advisor and paralegals from the Roma community

 

  • Distribution of condoms, lubricants and education materials

 

  • Counselling for drug use prevention
