The first training on comprehensive sexuality education for youth from partner organizations took place in Mavrovo on 10-13 July, 2017. Thirty young people from the Center for rural development “Burjum” – Kumanovo, Association “Rodova perspektiva” – Strumica, Center for Education and Development (CED) – Tearce, Educational Humanitarian Organization (EHO) – Shtip and the Center for Sustainable Community Development – Debar learned about all seven essential components of CSE. Guided by HERA peer educators, they had the opportunity to acquire, through a series of interactive lectures, relevant, current and fact-based information related to gender, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, contraception, sexual citizenship aspects, pleasure, violence, diversity and relationships.
Recognizing the lack of comprehensive approach within the formal education system that should provide young people with necessary information on protection of sexual and reproductive health and rights, this training aims at contributing to greater awareness and to development of skills, attitudes and values to enable the young population to make informed decisions regarding their sexuality and their health.
The training was organized with the financial support of Civica Mobilitas and IPPF EN.
