Abortions are performed in Sweden, Greece and France, where they are legal, safe and covered by the health insurance. They are also carried out in Kenya, El Salvador and the Philippines, despite constituting a criminal offence, and all women who have an abortion run the risk of going to prison or being sentenced to death.
Reproductive rights of women and girls have not been safeguarded neither in Central and Eastern Europe – the female body continues to be the subject of national debates where the voice of the religion and the conscientious objection is the loudest. Reproductive freedom has not been guaranteed in our country, too. This is exactly why this year again we mark the 28th of September, the International Safe Abortion Day, and we demand:
