Born in Skopje, Vesna Ilievska Utevska graduated from the Institute for Classical Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje.
In the civil sector she has coordinated projects related with environment and preservation of natural resources, in particular with environmental risks in infrastructure projects. She has led educational programs in the areas of ecology and sustainable lifestyles, as well as informal education for young people. She is passionate about nature, languages, feminism, personal development, finding a common thread between all differences. Driven by solidarity and equality among all people as personal values, she strives to support the marginalized groups in the society.
She believes that practicing yoga and mindfulness can lead to acknowledgement of the unity of everything that exists and that such awareness naturally encourages equality and deepening of human rights, as well as caring for the planet and everything alive. Guided by such ideas, she is also a certified yoga instructor. She has also gained experience as an interpreter and teacher in Greek.
Since 2018 she is part of HERA’s team as a project coordinator responsible for the stationary and mobile HIV voluntary counselling and testing service.
