Aiming at improving the health and social status of Roma people in Macedonia, in 2012 the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Macedonia trained and certified 16 Roma Health Mediators (RHM). By improving communication between Roma and health workers, providing assistance in the provision of necessary personal and health insurance documentation as well as by implementing health promotion activities at individual and community levels, RHM facilitate and better the access of Roma to health services within the current health care system. Using field data and personal experiences and attitudes among Roma and visiting services within the health care institutions, the Bulletin No.2 brings closer the work of RHM done in 2012.
