Strategic goal: All adolescent and young people are aware of their sexual and reproductive rights which enable them to make free and informed decisions and to actively achieve their rights.
Current activities:
- Performing peer education on sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout the country, with pupils from primary and secondary schools, students, young people from social institutions and other marginalised groups
- Organising promoting events and marking international days (Youth Day, International Contraception Day, International Aids Day, etc.)
- Radio programme Sexy Neighbourhood
- Implementation of awareness raising campaigns for use of oral contraception among the young
- Implementation of workshops and promoting events for prevention of tuberculosis among the young in the rural areas
- Strengthening the capacities of volunteers from the youth group
- Developing and distributing education materials for the young
- Republic Young – platform for defending youth participation
Results:
- Over 1000 young have participated at sexual and reproductive health and rights workshops and over 800 at tuberculosis workshops at annual level
- Participation in the development of the national shadow report for rights of children in Macedonia
- In 2011, My Choice, My Decision project was awarded by the World Summit for Youth Award, as a project that contributes to development of the Millennium Development Goals
- Withdrawal of the Draft Law on Young People as a result of the activities of the Republic Young, due to the fact that it had been drafted without any consultations with young people
